Course Summary

Drawing and Sketching for Animation is an intensive course designed for aspiring animators. Students will learn the fundamentals of sketching, including sight-size drawing, gesture drawing, figure construction, anatomy, planes, and directional lines. With a focus on the basics of animation composition and storytelling skills, students will gain insight into the essential elements of character development, storyboarding, and scene composition. Additionally, lectures in traditional animation principles such as thumb-nailing images, scene design, posing options, and backgrounds will be supplemented by demonstrations from more experienced professionals.
